Comparing Whole Numbers and Fractions

Link: Comparing Whole Numbers and Fractions.

Order 2 numbers at a time using whole numbers and a fraction.

In order to receive extra credit for your practice time, go to the orange box where you'll see the practice.  Once you have answered 25 problems, click on the "Report totals" button and a small popup window will appear on your screen.  Take your mouse and highlight all the information in that window.  Click back to our Class webpage and then click Comments.  Fill out the information WITHOUT using your last name and make up a fake email address.  Once you have done that, paste the highlighted information in the comment window.

I will give you 6 points for completing these problems (which is equivalent to 2 nights of homework credit).  I also think this will be a fun way to work on making your Number Sense stronger.  Have fun.

So why aren't there division tables???

We've completed our multiplication fact assessment.  Everyone on our team will be 100% proficient in their math facts through the 12s very shortly.  How exciting!!!

Some of you have asked me why we don't do a division fact table like the multiplication one.  That was a great question and I mostly think it's because division is really multiplication in a different order.  If I were to think about 12/4 = 3 is really just a different way of saying that 12=4 * 3.  The more you think about division as the reverse of multiplication, the easier it will be for you, I think.
