Articulate, talented, and ambitious; virtuous, reserved, and have excellent taste. Rabbit people are admired, trusted, and are often financially lucky. WOW...it's going to be a banner year with all the babies born as rabbits!!!
I invited my students and their families to meet down at the Nelson Atkins museum to the New Year Celebration. Music, dance, theatre, arts, crafts and walking through the Chinese galleries as the museum overflowed with people. The Lion Dance was unbelieveable...so many people crowding in the museum's main indoor courtyard. We had wonderful food and a Chinese Yo-Yo. .
We had so much fun...students wanted to find the art pieces we'd been learning about in class. Fortunately I had done a bit of exploring a couple of weeks ago when I was at the museum...I had looked up the pieces, so I could easily show the kids where to find the cricket cages, the ox cart, the vases and even a big surprise....a Chinese sarcophagus.
Social Studies class goes to the museum
I had to chuckle when the kids told me that they were having fun and never dreamed it was possible at a museum. I had intended to stay until about 7:30pm....my day having started at 6:30am that morning with some special tutoring. Time just flew by and before I knew it....it was almost closing time at 9:00pm. My legs ached and back was sore...but those kids and I had a blast. It is something I'll treasure for a long time and I hope the kids will too. Thanks to all the parents who brought their kids down for a wonderful evening.
